INTERNET OF THINGS (IOT)

The Internet of things (IoT) is the extension of Internet connectivity into physical devices and everyday objects. The definition of the Internet of things has evolved due to the convergence of multiple technologies, real-time analytics, machine learning, commodity sensors, and embedded systems. 

In the consumer market, IoT technology is most synonymous with products about the concept of the "smart home". It is highly used while offering blockchain solutions to both small scale and medium scale companies.

It covers devices and appliances (such as lighting fixtures, thermostats, home security systems and cameras, and other home appliances) that support one or more common ecosystems. It can be controlled via devices associated with that ecosystem, such as smartphones and smart speakers. 

IoT creates New Opportunities

The IoT creates opportunities for more direct integration of the physical world into computer-based systems. It results in efficiency improvements, economic benefits, and reduced human exertions. Therefore, it is highly used while offering cloud computing services for multiple purposes.

Ambient intelligence and autonomous control are used to integrate the concepts of the IoT and autonomous control. Autonomous control comes with initial outcomes towards this direction considering objects as the driving force for autonomous IoT. 

Training an agent (i.e., IoT device) to behave smartly by reinforcement learning approach. A learning agent can sense the environment's state (e.g., sensing home temperature), perform actions (e.g., turn HVAC on or off) and learn through the maximizing accumulated rewards it receives in the long term.
